Want to build a Shopify store for the Israeli audience but not sure how to turn your site into Hebrew? We've gathered every task you need to complete to make your Shopify site fully Hebrew.
Before we briefly explain how to translate your Shopify store, let's explain why Shopify needs translation in the first place
Shopify is a website-building platform that has grown at a remarkable pace in recent years, but unfortunately many of its themes still don't fully support Hebrew and right-to-left layout. That's why we built the SenseRTL app for you: it translates everything, including what competing apps can't.

As most of you know, Hebrew is written from right to left, while English is written from left to right.
Unfortunately, many Shopify themes don't fully support RTL - flipping the layout from right to left - but don't worry: we've solved this problem for you, and you can switch the direction in one click.
The image on the left shows how to switch the direction in our app: just choose your theme and click Save, and that's it - you have a right-to-left site.
To get your site translated into Hebrew, you'll need to complete a few quick steps.
Open the app, then go to "Languages"
Click Save on Hebrew and follow the instructions in the app, and that's it, friends - your site is translated into Hebrew
Of course, we also support adding payment method icons to your site.
Payment method icons have been shown to build trust, which raises your site's conversion rate.
You can add the icons in the Footer and also on the Product Page

As you've probably gathered, the emails your store sends to customers may need translating into Hebrew.
But don't worry: with our app you can turn every email fully into Hebrew in under 3 minutes.
Just open it, copy and change it in the settings.

Does it also translate the Buy it now button?
Absolutely! We translate the dynamic buttons on your site
What if there's a theme I want that you don't translate?
We have a team of 13 Israeli developers whose job is exactly this. If you'd like one added, ask our support team and it will be ready within 72 hours
Will the currency in my Shopify store change to shekels (₪)?
Sure, we show you how to do it and explain it in the app as well
Do you translate every theme
Yes. As we said, if something doesn't work as it should, you can talk to our support team on WhatsApp and any issue will be resolved the same day

Many people use Shopify to open online stores of their own. Some of them live in Israel, so their target audience is the Israeli population. Shopify supports Hebrew content, but many themes don't fully handle Hebrew and right-to-left layout, which might seem like a problem for the store owner, but with the features offered by apps like Sense RTL you can get a full Hebrew interface.
For years, the Canadian company Shopify has let anyone who wants one buy an online store: a website where they can sell to customers, whether through dropshipping or with the owner's own exclusive products. Many people around the world use Shopify, Israelis among them. This is where the problem comes in: Shopify in Hebrew doesn't fully work out of the box. Shopify supports Hebrew content, but many themes still don't fully handle Hebrew and right-to-left layout.
Various apps were developed to solve this problem. One Shopify app that effectively lets you run a Shopify store in Hebrew is Sense RTL. Apps like this let you manage the store in a Hebrew-supporting interface through a range of features built into the app itself. These features include, among others:
A great many potential customers browse the web, and there's a good chance they'll come across a Shopify site. Among the things that determine whether those customers buy from one Shopify site or skip to the next online store is their experience in the digital store. A quality Hebrew translation of Shopify through an app such as Sense RTL creates a better customer experience. If a Shopify store's target audience is in the Israeli market, its customers will find it easier to browse the products and complete their purchase thanks to these factors:
Translating the Buy It Now button - the customer understands how to complete the purchase quickly
Right-to-left layout - allows a more convenient and readable site design
The differences between Hebrew and English show up in many places, but one of the most noticeable is writing direction. Hebrew is written from right to left, while English goes the other way. A Shopify site is in English at its core, so translating the words on the site from English to Hebrew isn't necessarily enough. If only the words are translated, the online store will have a problem with its look and design. A customer browsing the site will manage with the language, but the site won't look right, and certain actions may seem odd to them. To make the site comfortable to browse, Sense RTL also switches the site's interface to right-to-left, so that Hebrew support in the Shopify store is complete.
Once a Shopify app supports switching the site to right-to-left, the major part left for it to do is translating the words on the site. You may be surprised to hear that a standard English Shopify store has about 9,000 words. That's no small number, and each of those words has its own importance and effect on the customer, the purchase process, the design of the online store and other aspects. The translation of these words has to be accurate and correct for a Hebrew Shopify site to set a high bar for the visitor experience. Sense RTL is one example of an app that provides a full Hebrew interface by translating those words from English to Hebrew. If you want to run a Shopify store, a Hebrew theme matters for a better customer experience, and here too you get a Hebrew interface.
An online Shopify store includes a range of themes for the store owner to choose from. The theme you choose affects the store's design and appearance. That matters a great deal, because many customers are influenced by the visual side of the web. Sense RTL, for example, as a Shopify app, lets you choose from many popular themes. In a Shopify store, a Hebrew theme can make the difference for the many customers browsing from Israel. Note that with the right app, a Hebrew theme isn't the only thing you get: you also get updates to various themes. Theme updates help you keep the store dynamic and suited to different seasons.
Just like in a physical store, a potential customer browsing an online store spends most of their time getting a feel for the store, looking at details, comparing prices and hunting for deals or bargains, while a small but significant part is devoted to the payment itself. The part of an online store that presents the payment methods is critical to completing the purchase, and a customer who gets lost there may give up on buying. Shopify in Hebrew significantly reduces the chance of that happening.
An accessibility button has become standard in online stores in recent years. It lets people with various physical disabilities make a simple purchase on the site by performing actions in an adapted way. The accessibility module, too, is made available in Hebrew through dedicated apps.
A Shopify app handles not only the design of an up-to-date Hebrew-theme Shopify store, but also a small and especially important part of online stores: the Buy It Now button. This is the button found on shopping sites that lets you buy a product immediately with one click. Sense RTL makes this button dynamic and lets you change it to a Hebrew "Buy now" button, so the whole site is consistently in Hebrew for every visitor.
During the purchase process, from the moment the customer buys the product until they receive it or collect it from the designated pickup point, they may receive various messages. So that the customer doesn't feel uncomfortable during these stages, Sense RTL also translates these messages into Hebrew. With a Shopify app, the customer can enjoy content written in Hebrew throughout the entire shopping process.
Not everyone, including people who run a Shopify online store, is highly tech-savvy about all the options. Quite often issues come up, or store managers simply aren't fully comfortable running the store with an app like Sense RTL. What makes the difference in these cases is the technical support the app offers its customers. Through the app itself, through chat or through a phone line - all of these let you get real-time solutions to problems.
When you choose a Shopify app, there's usually a base that every customer gets, such as a Hebrew Shopify theme. For those who want more activity in their online store, or who want to grow, there are additional packages beyond the base plan, with extra features for running a Shopify store in Hebrew in a better, more tailored way that attracts higher-quality visitors to the site.
