Privacy policy

Last updated: 4 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Oversight (business ID 312216377), operating the Sense Apps brand ("we", "us"), collects, uses, shares and retains personal information - both on sense-apps.com and in each of the applications we publish on the Shopify App Store.

It applies to all of our apps: Sense RTL, Sense WA, Sense Privacy, Sense UTM Analytics, Sense Announcement Bars and Sense Instafeed (each, "the App"), and to the services around them ("the Service").

If you are a Shopify merchant who installed one of our apps, note that with respect to information about your customers you are the data controller and we act as a processor on your behalf and on your instructions.

Information We Collect

1. Information about merchants who install an App

When you install an App, Shopify grants us access to data from your store account, limited to the scopes you approved at installation. In addition we collect:

  • the name, email address and phone number of whoever administers the store or contacts us on its behalf;
  • your store address (myshopify.com domain) and billing details, which are managed through Shopify;
  • any support correspondence you send us.

We do not collect or store payment card details. All billing for the apps is handled by Shopify.

2. Information about visitors to your store

What is processed depends on which App you installed, since each has a different job:

  • Sense RTL - adapts your store's layout to right-to-left and translates interface elements. Collects no personal information about visitors.
  • Sense Announcement Bars - to show a bar to the right audience, processes context about the visit: device type, UTM parameters, cart value, country or region, and information about the customer and the product being viewed.
  • Sense UTM Analytics - matches UTM parameters from marketing links against orders placed in the store, in order to report conversions.
  • Sense WA - processes phone numbers and order or abandoned-cart details in order to compose the WhatsApp messages you send to your customers. Messages are sent from your own WhatsApp account and under your responsibility.
  • Sense Privacy - stores consent records: cookie-banner acceptance, form consents and pre-checkout privacy-policy acknowledgements, including the time of consent and a visit identifier. The purpose is to let you demonstrate that consent was given.
  • Sense Instafeed - displays content from an Instagram feed you connected. Collects no personal information about visitors.

3. Information you provide on our website

Through the support request form we collect the fields you complete: full name, callback phone number, email address, store link, the app and subject of your request, a description of the request, and in some cases a theme name and a screenshot you attach.

When you subscribe to our mailing list, we collect your email address only.

In addition, each submission automatically records technical context: the IP address it was sent from, browser type, the page it was sent from, the referring page and the time of submission. These are needed for security, to prevent automated spam submissions, and to handle your request.

4. Cookies and log files

"Cookies" are data files stored on your device. On our website we use them for operational purposes and to measure usage. "Log files" record server activity and include IP address, browser type, entry and exit pages and timestamps. For more about cookies and how to block them, see allaboutcookies.org.

How We Use Information

  • to provide the Service and operate the apps;
  • to handle support requests and get back to you;
  • to improve the apps and diagnose faults;
  • to send updates and marketing content - only if you subscribed, and you can unsubscribe at any time;
  • to meet legal obligations and protect our rights.

Sharing Information with Third Parties

We do not sell personal information. We share it only in the following cases:

  • Shopify - the platform the apps are installed on and through which billing is processed;
  • Infrastructure and hosting providers - who host our servers and databases;
  • Automation or CRM systems - where we have configured requests received on the website to be forwarded automatically to a lead-management or automation tool, the request details are sent to it;
  • Authorities - as required by law, court order or other lawful request, and to protect our rights.

Some of our service providers operate outside Israel, so information may be processed and stored in other countries, including the United States and the European Union.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, and thereafter for as long as we are legally required to keep it (for example for accounting purposes). Support requests are kept for continued handling and service history. You may request deletion at any time, subject to retention obligations under applicable law.

Your Rights

Under the Israeli Privacy Protection Law, 5741-1981 (including Amendment 13), you are entitled to review personal information we hold about you, to request its correction if it is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, and to request its deletion.

If you are an EU resident you additionally have rights under the GDPR, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection to processing.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected].

Security

We take reasonable measures to secure information, including encrypting traffic, restricting access permissions, and separating personal information from public data. No system is entirely immune, however, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example following a change to the Service or to legal requirements. The date of the most recent update appears at the top of the page.
