Add a countdown timer to the bar, along with buttons and links that visitors can click, and the option to pin the bar to the top of the page so it stays visible as they scroll.

Combining urgency ("The sale ends in…") with an action button in the same element turns a passive notice into a direct way into a collection or a product.

Schedule the announcement bar in advance for exact dates and times, including a start and an end.

That way you can prepare a Friday sale, a launch or an end-of-season sale ahead of time - the bar goes up and comes down on its own at the right moment, with no need to remember to switch it on or off in the middle of the night.
